About me

Why do I write?

"For as long as I can remember, I've always been looking for new stories. Whether it's a comic or a novel, I can't stop looking for more. When my friends started asking me for book advice, I knew it was something I wanted to do: help people to find the next perfect adventure and why not...create characters who lived intensely..."

The air, lately, has
marked my life. I move from one continent to another through the air. Change
of the world, of people, of friends, of family. I arrive at a new destination that I
It's strange and I start to think about what I left behind. I open the drawers looking
things that I can't find because they aren't there, they were left behind.

The air, the air that I breathe,
also changes, from polluted to pure air, from conditioned air to indoor air.
sea. Even my lungs have to make the effort, they have to get used to it
to breathe another air.

Only my loneliness remains the same,
my rootlessness, my need to not belong to anyone, or anything, or any
country. Having to quickly get used to the place where I am lost between
my own other people's things, at that moment...

But I have also been a woman of
water, for a while.

I have always enjoyed the
feeling of calm that a river produces in me, I like to let myself be carried away by its
current. Water was very important at one point in my life. I was born at
shore of that exuberant river, the Orinoco, and that feeling of belonging to the water
It doesn't abandon me. I changed fresh water for salt water and the sea became
my lover. I even had a son by him.

The elements have dominated my
existence. I was once a virgin forest, fertile land and when I am in it
I feel the energy that rises through my feet and runs down my spine.
giving me a supernatural energy and I turn into a tree, or transformed me into what
that surrounds me. I am earth!

In another stage I was pure fire,
passion consumed me. Those burning embers still emerge to tell me
that have not been extinguished, that the fire is still in my bowels

But now I'm just wind
North wind

Her indomitable imagination drove her to write since she was a child; to discover new worlds in poetry; tell your daily life through your children's writing. As an adult, that same imagination defined her career as a social communicator, which she studied at the Andrés Bello Catholic University in Caracas, Venezuela.

The immediacy of the news captivates her and for more than fifteen years she successfully navigates the world of television, first as an anchor of the stellar news program, then as a producer and presenter of information and variety programs, winning the 1984 National Journalism Award.

During his professional practice of more than fifteen years as a journalist, he received important recognitions and decorations, including First Class Merit for Work and the Grand Cordon of the City of Caracas.

In the early 1990s she was hired by the Telemundo network in Florida, USA, where she worked as a journalist and host of the program Esta noche con tú, conducting exclusive interviews with international personalities.

Her passion for the land where she was born and her social sensitivity led her to create several foundations to address the needs of indigenous ethnic groups, propelling her to a level flight through politics as a representative before the Congress of the Republic for her home state, the Delta Amacuro. She was the creator and president of the Campesina and Indigenous Foundation, an organization focused on the care and defense of the indigenous ethnic groups of Venezuela, and during that same time she was a permanent collaborator of the jungle doctors, participating in health and assistance sessions for indigenous ethnic groups.

Mila Mendoza, now a citizen of the world, was born in Tucupita, Venezuela and Amacoy, Ghosts of the Wind is her first short novel, a work in which magic and reality mix as in the author's own existence.
